Ronald J. Ritchie

September 26, 1951~April 04, 2022

Ronald Arthur Ritchie was born on September 26th 1951 in Los Angeles, California and passed away on Monday April 4th 2022, at the age of 70 after a brief battle with cancer.

Ron was a Military Veteran, having honorably served his Country in the United States Army and is survived by Sherria and his 4 children Natalie, Erica, Robyn, Ronnie and grandchildren Olivia, Myles, and Xander.

He retired from his career with Cigna Health Care and was a dedicated and proud family man who valued all living creatures and touched the souls of many.

Dad was such a lover of all living things and held a special place in his heart for his family pets, as well as local animal rescue and shelter efforts in the community. We would love to honor that passion with memorial donations to FurEver Friendz of Tampa Bay, Florida. Donations in Dad’s name can be made at the link below.

Although our hearts are deeply wounded by his absence we are forever grateful for his memory.

I’m truly saddened to hear of his transition. We used to call each other BFF. He was such a genuine and loving person and I’m heartbroken to know we didn’t get the chance to see each other last time I was in the area. He will forever have a place in my heart with all of the loving times we shared.

We pray for peace, comfort and understanding during this difficult time. He loved his family very much 🙏🏽

Love you forever friend

I am so heartbroken that Ron has passed away. From the moment I met him, he became a part of my family. He was a second dad to Adam, and the most loving father to Robyn. The memories I have of Ron and Sherria at the wedding, and before that at the weekend of the shower, will always be so precious to me. But even afterwards, Ron and Sherria always took the time to send me cards and messages on holidays, difficult days, or just any time to let me know they were thinking of me. And when Ron hugged, you really felt HUGGED. What a wonderful man. He will truly be missed. Sending love and condolences to Sherria, Natalie, Erica, Ronnie, all the grandkids, and of course my brave and amazing daughter in law Robyn. There are no words.

We are so sorry for your loss. While we didn’t get to know Ronald personally, he seemed like a wonderful and genuine man. His energy and happiness at Robyn and Adam’s wedding was infectious! We’re thinking about you and sending you our love during this difficult time.

Even though I did not know your dad well, it was clear that he had a loving relationship with you and Adam. When I spoke with him although briefly, an inner warmth shined through. I think you have that same warmth.
May he Rest In Peace.

It’s so strange to write this because I still can’t believe Ron is gone. He had a warm smile, and he just radiated with love and goodness. Almost like an angel sent to live with the humans. I met him in California many years ago. We lost touch back before the internet was a thing but later reconnected, and it was as if not much time had passed between us when we talked. We were always connected he said. He talked about travelling abroad someday, and visiting me in Canada. I hope he gets to travel first class in the afterlife, and continue to spread his warmth infinitely to us all.

First and foremost, Ron was a family man. I don’t think anything was more important to him than his family. Also, Ron cared about animals. In fact he changed to a vegan diet to do his part to protect animals. Lastly, in spite of the unfortunate last month of his life, Ron believed in eating well, exercising and being well organized. Ron was a wonderful kind hearted man. He will surely be missed by many.

My dearest cousin. My heart is broken. We had an amazing connection since we were kids. We understood each other perfectly. Laughed at the same things until we were in tears. Never forgot each other’s birthday. Nothing will be the same. Love you always ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Ron Ritchie was one of the kindest, most caring and generous men, that I had the distinct pleasure to call a friend. Ron was such a positive person. He never met a stranger. He looked for the best in people. He loved his family and was so proud of them. I will always miss and love my brother.

It was an absolute honor to have known Ron, and call him my friend. He always had a smile on his face and a fierce hug to give. No light will ever shine as bright as his. To Sherria, and his entire family…I’m thinking of you all during this difficult time and wishing you strength and peace.

RONALD J. RITCHIE – MY MAIN MAN!!!
I am truly shocked and devastated to hear the news of Your Passing. We met @ Cigna Healthcare in Franklin, TN. many years ago and We immediately had a Great Bond. We had a 17 year difference in age – so to me You were a ‘Cool Big Brother’ – dropping some life jewels of knowledge for me to think about. We often talked about my family ties to Los Angeles, CA and You knew the area very well. We spoke about Our Love of ‘Ole Skool’ music – The Friends of Distinction (Grazing In The Grass – Going In Circles) – Bloodstone (We Go A Long Way Back – Go On and Cry) and Funkadelic (Maggot Brain). You Were Cooler Than A Yeti My Brother and I Graciously Appreciate You for being a Friend to me. Our conversations about Your Military Travels, Nicknames and Wonderful Family were always talks that involved lots of Laughter and High Fives.
Your Warm and Infectious Spirit Glowed not only within YOU – but- All Around YOU.
You Are Already Truly Missed. Sincere Prayers and Condolences for Sherria and the rest of Your entire family. God Bless and Rest Your Soul Ron.
Through The Lens Of Love And Gratitude – I Pray You Can Now Spread Your Wings And Fly High – SHINE MY BROTHER AND FLY HIGH. ♥♥♥

My heart truly aches while I write this but it’s instantly replaced by the image of my Uncle Ron’s infectious smile. As a teenager, my first memories of my Uncle Ron was with my Aunt Sheria and my Cousin Robyn(who was a newborn at the time and Cousin Ronnie was waiting in the wings) were them touring me around Los Angeles/Beverly Hills and I didn’t want to ever leave them. It was magical! Since that day, all of my memories of Uncle Ron and the beautiful family that they created will forever be imprinted in my soul. All of my love to “The Entire Ritchie Family” and all of us lucky ones that were blessed to have known such an amazing man.
