Ross Blinn Stratton Sr, 93, of Hudson, Florida, passed away on February 11th after chronic health issues. Ross retired from both the Kentucky Jefferson County Health Department and from the United States Army. In his spare time, he enjoyed being with friends around a beer and in his later years, while living in Florida, on the golf course. For the last three years, his health began to fail and he lived with his daughter Catherine who became his devoted caregiver after the death of their brother Ross.
His daughters say their father was a generous, kind, and loving man to his family. He was always there for them. He taught them to work hard but enjoy the good moments too. After losing his first wife Elizabeth, the mother of his children, he met and wed Audrey so the years they had together in Florida gave him a chance to follow his favorite passions: traveling, being on the water, and golf. Even though the years in the military gave him the opportunity to travel the world, it wasn’t until his later years, with his second wife Audrey that they got to travel the country driving together to visit family and friends or take yearly cruises on the high seas.
Ross is survived by his daughters: Catherine Olinger(Dave DiStefano)Karin Stratton(Lynn Starkey), Kimberle Stratton-Linehan (Denis), and Ross Stratton(deceased) his 9 grandchildren: Kevin, Bobby Lynn, Adam, Ashley, Joseph Ross, John, Shaun, Shelsie, and Elisa. 9 Great- Grandchildren: Natalie, Seth, Brody, Landon, Alexis, Jack, Quinn, Winnie, and Henry. His sisters Joanne Frost(George) and Jeanne Barnes (John) and brother, Bob Hupp, and many nieces and nephews.
He was surrounded by good friends who took time to visit him after he could not play golf due to his deteriorating health. His memories play in golf on the Greens gave him so much pleasure. Please join us as we remember this dear man.

Dad, I can't express the sadness I feel these days with out a chance to say a final goodbye . You did the best you could every day of your life even at the end. You tried to talk to us on the phone and would keep fighting for a chance to see us again as you said. You asked us not to forget you … Daddy we never will.
Love you Dad.

Poppie, I set here feeling lost I know you are in a place of peace with you sons and beautiful wifes, mom and stepmom, watching over us. I feel at peace be also alone. I cherish all our special memories watching the football games and golf matches. Looking up stepmother, trivia questions on the golfers and football players as we spent hours on Sunday via-phone game time. I will miss but always cherish.
Love you Poppie and we will always and forever remember you.
