Sandra Carpenter Conroy, 68, passed away peacefully July 1st, 2024. She is survived by her two adult children, Stephan Dylan Shaver, (spouse – Jessica) of North Carolina, and Lindsay Marie Shaver of North Carolina; five beautiful grandchildren – Augustus, Marion, Jacob, Tanner, and Michael Jett; and two cousins, Jana Hicks (spouse – David) of Florida, and John Kueck (spouse – Susan) of Minnesota.
Sandy fiercely loved her family and friends, and didn’t know a stranger. She loved life and adventures, which there were many. A dedicated nurse for much of her life, she found true joy in helping others. Sandy has taken a piece of us and so much love with her, she leaves us with such wonderful memories, and the love she freely shared, to laugh, remember her by, and swap stories. Although she is now gone, we rejoice that our paths crossed along the way and were blessed to even know her. Sandy has undoubtedly made her final destination and has God’s loving arms wrapped around her, protecting her, and welcoming her home.
Sandy will be cremated, and no celebration of life will be held as she will be heading to North Carolina. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, one of her favorite charities, would make her smile.

I met Sandy through my neighbor Julie. I lived next door to Julie and Sandy and Julie were as close as sisters and bff. Sandy was a great person and a bright light , bubbly personality and very kind. I enjoyed her company very much. I’ve known her as long as Julie lived next door for 15 years. May she rest in peace and her bright light shine in the heavens. Til we meet again.

Til we meet again my sweet friend. You are truly one of a kind and so loved. We had so many good times and I have great memories. Like you piercing my ears in 3rd grade, being in Bill Allen’s Dolphin Dolls, and walking around the neighborhood at 3 in the morning. So much love to you. 💔

Sandy was a wonderful woman and nurse. Very compassionate and would go to any length for her patient. Such a loving mother and grandmother.I was so fortunate to work with her. We were blessed to have Sandy as part of our team in home care. Sandy was a great nurse! She had the best humor and laughed all the time. Her patients and team loved her. Sandy will always hold a place in our hearts. Rest is peace! Prayers to her family and friends through this hard time.

I love you, Sandy! ❤️ Your life will be celebrated in my life until we meet again. I will always remember our times at Glades Junior High and then Miami Killian Senior High. The times we spent at Dadeland Mall, West 40s, Crandon Park and at the church parking lot 🤗 So many great memories of our youth. I also spent some time in North Carolina and wish I had known you were so close. I will always be grateful for our day at Fort DeSoto State Park in 2015. Our last day together! You have finally earned your wings, my girl. I will join you one day and we will fly high together again then. Until then, “We are the Cougars!! The mighty mighty Cougars!!”

Happy heavenly birthday Sandy. We met in 1969 at the Kendade Condominiums where I temporarily lived with my family and you with your mom. You were my very first Floridian friend. We enjoyed the pool together and many shenanigans. I’ll miss saying happy birthday to you my friend. ❤️🎂
