Scott. E. Morgan

April 11, 1953~July 27, 2022
On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, Scott Evan Morgan, loving husband, supportive father and adoring grandfather, passed away at home with family by his side at the age of 69.
Scott was born April 11, 1953 in Jacksonville, FL to P.E. Mike and Sena Melton Morgan He was in Boy Scouts from Cubs to Explorers and graduated from Clarkston High School in Clarkston, GA.  He received his associates degree at Dekalb (Perimeter College).  Scott went on to become a highly skilled and trained salesman for Ideal Industries, it was there that Scott met and trained his lifelong best friend, Tom Kobe (Barb). Scott retired from Ideal after 25 years but his friendship with Tom and Barb will never end.
After realizing that retirement wasn’t for Scott, he joined the workforce again with Thomas and Betts and then finishedhis work career with taking on his father’s agency, P.E. Morgan and Associates.
Scott met his wife, Susan, on February 14, 1997, on a flight from Tampa to Atlanta.  They became inseparable after their third date and went on to join their families together with his two sons, Brent and Brandon along with her two daughters, Jacinda and Jessica.
Scott loved being on the water no matter if he was walking on a beach or boating, it was always his happy place.  Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, father and uncle Bud, he learned to respect the water and other boaters.  They taught him about fishing, crabbing and searching for clams.  Scott spent his life as an avid boater and had a passion for keeping our oceans clean.
Scott became a volunteer for Women Orthopaedist Global Outreach (WOGO) where he earned the nickname “MacGyver” as it seemed he could fix anything with a roll of duct tape; even a broken air conditioner at a hospital in Nepal.   He was always a jokester and could recite word for word “Christmas Vacation” and perform Richard Pryor skits better than Richard Pryor.
Scott is survived by his wife, Susan; four children, Brent Morgan of Fort Lauderdale; Brandon Morgan of Los Angeles, CA; Jacinda Kertyzak (Greg) of Hudson, FL; Jessica Block (Jay) of Port Richey, FL; four grandchildren, Emma Blair Block, Grayson, Emma Kay and Abigail Kertyzak; brother, Glenn Morgan (Jessica deceased) of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Janet Cheek (Tom) of Denver, NC; mother and father-in-law, Joyce and Richard Mabry as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Scott loved and lived life to the fullest.  With family by his side, we were able to celebrate Scott’s life with great stories, loving memories, prayers and heartfelt goodbye’s for now.  He will be forever known for his quick wit, his infectious smile as well as his kind and compassionate spirit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Florida Oceanographic Society or Women’s Orthopaedist Global Outreach

Dad, thank you for being what and who I needed when you came into my life. You were so patient with me. I don’t think a deck has ever been refinished as many times as ours was. You were always someone that I could count on to be there. It’s going to be hard not having you here but I know that you have given me the knowledge to know what to do and I promise I’m always going to do my best to make you proud, and show you that I was always listening and learning from you. Jacinda and I want you to know that we appreciate you being so awesome to mom and making her so happy especially with your singing and dancing. We all love you so much and we miss you. We’ll see you again someday and we know that you’re with us in spirit always. Love you Dad always and forever

It was fun working on it with you seeing it going to miss you. Make sure you keep her eye out and Susan, she’s the sweetest. You are sweet but she’s sweetest. Susan, I love you. Hang in there.
