Scott Findlay

January 14, 1959~March 16, 2021

Scott Findlay, beloved father, husband, and friend, passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, March 16 in the place he loved most, next to the person he loved most.

Scott was born in Ames, Iowa and his family moved around frequently, spending most of their time in Illinois and Minnesota. Scott loved the outdoors and took advantage of the frigid temperatures in his childhood and teenage surroundings by engaging in winter activities like tobogganing, hockey, and polar-sauna dives. He eventually gave these up to move to Florida, where he met his loving wife Margaret. They were married in 1983, making November 12, 2020 their 37th anniversary. Their bond will remain forever imprinted in the hearts of everyone who observed it: their love was something to behold.

Scott was an incredibly skilled leader, but it was his compassion that made him stand out in his career and in his personal life. He found his career in water and wastewater treatment, which he in turn advanced frequently with licensing and certifications. These achievements eventually led him all over the world, with assignments ranging from Cuba to the middle of the Indian Ocean. These experiences contributed to his worldview in ways that he endlessly expressed gratitude for, but he was always ecstatic to come back to his family.

Scott lived for God and for his family: his every waking moment was spent dedicated to providing, loving, and praising. His passions involved raising his daughters, bringing out the best in people, working with his hands, and exploring the world of vino.

Scott is survived by his wife: Margaret; his daughters: Amanda, Emily and Monica; his sister: Jennifer; and his father, Jack.
