Scott Francis West was born to parents Linda Downs and Larry West on July 9, 1973. Scott passed July 28,2023. He was raised by Linda Downs and Step-father Daniel Downs in Danville, Illinois. Scott moved to Florida with his parents when he was 10 years old. He was a Supervisor at the Pasco County Property Appraiser’s Office. Scott met his wife, Katty West, in October of 2021, in a very unorthodox way. They knew from the moment they met that it was love at first site. A year later, October 15, 2022, they tied the knot.
Scott loved to fish, hunt, race cars and gardening. As his wife would say “He is my favorite handy-man”. Scott was a devoted family man. He enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews fishing, especially the younger ones Mika Jace and Valentina. He also loved to take his older nieces and nephews boat riding.
Although Scott never had children of his own, he took in Eddie, Katty’s son, as his very own. Eddie and Scott both enjoyed working on cars, boating and fishing with friends.
Scott leaves behind his sister Lori Osborne and brother Kevin West. Stepbrothers Terry, Don and Dan. Mother-in-law, who loved him as her own son, Cecilia Tuarez and father-in-law Juan DeLaCruz. In-Laws, Juan Pablo, Shiry, Fabricio, Espartaco, Glenda, Merly, Jennifer, Gema and Toni. Nieces Casey, Kinsey, Chelsea, Valeria, Natalia, Mika, Ariana, Avery, and Valentina. Nephews Derrick, Colby, John, John Angel, and Jace who call him grandpa.
Scott will always be remembered by his family, friends and coworkers as being kind, thoughtful, playful, hard-working, and a person who treated everyone equally. Scott will be missed.
Following Scott’s service, we would like to invite you to sprinkle his ashes at his happiest place that he planned to retire with his wife Katty. Refreshments will be served.

Katty, I am so very sorry for your loss. I have no words for how devastated I am. I feel terrible for his mother, Linda. I can’t imagine what she is going through as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you both during this very difficult time.
I’ve known Katty for 18 years and met Scott this past year before Katty & Scott’s wedding. I just remember how happy he was to be getting married and that he had found the love of his life with Katty. The way he always looked at Katty, showed just how much love he had for her. He also loved her son Eddie, as if he were his own son.
Scott and I worked tirelessly on preparing the lake house for the wedding. He wanted everything to be just perfect and I tried my best to help him achieve that. It wound up being a beautiful ceremony where Katty and Scott’s love was put on full display for everyone to witness. When you are in the trenches with someone and worked as hard side by side, as Scott and I did, you get to know someone pretty well, very quickly. Even though I only spent a couple of weeks with Scott, he has left a lasting impression on me, and one that I will never forget.

It was a pleasure to know you for the short time that we crossed paths. I enjoyed our conversations. You will be missed. I pray comfort during this time of reflection, because of the warmth and great memories that you’ve left with all of us. From everyone from Leadership Pasco, especially the class of ‘22, May God keep your family close, and may the peace that surpasses all understanding, cover and protect all of you.

To my Husband, to my 4Ever Us,
God gave me the toughest task in my life……to say Goodbye to you. It is not easy, and living without you is the hardest thing I’ve had to endure. I don’t know what the future holds for me or when I will see you again in heaven, but I do know for sure that you were the best of the best, and the best husband a woman could have. I will treasure our love for the rest of my life. Until we meet again in heaven and our ashes reunite, just as we planned.
Thank you for loving and caring for me the way that you did. Thank you for making me the happiest wife in the whole world. It may have been short, but for us, it was a lifetime. I never knew what a soulmate was until I met you. You always told me that every day was like a song with me. Beyond this world and up in heaven, you will forever be my soulmate, my guiding light, and my 4Ever Us. I love you and miss you more than words can describe. I have shed so many tears that I have no more tears to shed since you left. I will carry on with all of your memories. To my Forever and Ever Us. Amen
Oh, baby, I’m gonna love you forever
Forever and ever amen
As long as old men sit and talk about the weather
As long as old women sit and talk about old men
If you wonder how long I’ll be faithful
I’ll be happy to tell you again
I’m gonna love you forever and ever
Forever and ever, amen Your Eternal Wife
Katty West
