Sharon Kay Birkenbeil, 72, of Chatsworth, Illinois and Holiday, Florida, passed away on June 1st, 2022 with your family at her side.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made in Sharon’s memory to the: Chatsworth Fire Dept or Chatsworth American Legion Post 613.

She was born September 26, 1949, a daughter of Odelia and John Johnson.  She is survived by her husband Jerome “Jerry” Birkenbeil; children: Brian Deck of Forrest, Illinois, Kimberly (Eric) Pillischafske of Champaign, Illinois, Jason (Sherry) Birkenbeil of Lexington, Illinois, Michelle (Bruce) Brucker Gibson City, Illinois; ten grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother Roger Johnson of Encinitas, California and Rodney Johnson of Secor, Illinois.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Ronald “Ronnie” Johnson.

Sharon retired from the Town of Chatsworth as the town clerk after many years.  She also owned her own antique shop in Eureka IL for many years where she had the love for antiques and unique furniture.  She also enjoyed the love of flowers, gardening and you found her a lot of times in her happy place at the campground.  She will be missed by her family and friends.

To my family in Illinois I don’t have to tell you how special your mother was.
To me she was a very special lady who took me in 7yrs ago and called me her own. We loved to go shopping and getting our nails done. I will surly miss those times now it will be up me Jerry to keep the shopping up lol
