Susanna (Sue) McAllister Canning-Lindfors
May 22, 1941~May 11, 2025
It is with profound sadness that the family of Susanna (Sue) McAllister Canning-Lindfors announces her peaceful passing on May 11, 2025, in her home in New Port Richey, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, on May 22, 1941, Sue was 83 years young.
Sue was a loving and devoted steward of her large family. She was the beloved wife of William for 54 years, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Throughout her life, Sue was known for her strong will, dedication, and loving nature. She was deeply devoted to her family and adored her grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to support their passions and inspired everyone to have the confidence to pursue what needed to be done without fear. She was fearless and had the courage to speak her mind.
She dedicated many years to being a homemaker for her family and was a great friend to many. Sue opened her home to her children’s spouses, considering them an integral part of her family, along with her children’s friends, whom she regarded as her own. She hosted parties and get-togethers filled with wonderful food, music, and laughter.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was preceded in death by her son Billy Lindfors and survived by her children: Michelle Lindo, Nicole Congelosi, and James Lindfors, and their spouses: Michael, Mike, and April. Through them, Sue is survived by her eleven grandchildren: Violet, Austin, Maya, Jakob, Natalyah, Piper, Logan, Abby, Ethan, Benjamin, and Israel.
A private celebration of Sue’s life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to The Hospice Foundation at http://hospicefoundation.org/donate/

I will miss my Aunt Sue tremendously. She was such a big part of my childhood. She was like a second mother to me. Too many wonderful, joyful memories to mention. Rest in peace and I hope you are having a Scottish sing song with all your brothers in heaven. ❤️

All the best memories have Aunt Susie in them. She was fierce, beautiful, and deeply devoted to her family. Our Family Queen in every sense. Aunt Susie was the North to my father’s South, and together they shared a bond that lit up every room. Their friendship and love shaped our family in the most meaningful ways.
Her presence brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of home. I will forever cherish every moment spent with her. Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye, but we know heaven has gained an angel.
You will be deeply missed, Aunt Susie. Please give Mom, Dad, Uncle Ernie, Uncle John, and Aunt V the biggest hug from all of us.
