(November 16, 1962 – June 16, 2023)

Terence Flanagan, a cherished father, brother, and friend, left this world on June 16, 2023, at the age of 60. His vibrant spirit, love for life, and infectious laughter will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate to know him.

Terence was born on November 16, 1962, in the Bronx, New York. As a child, he moved with his family to Clearwater Beach, Florida, where he developed a deep connection to the sun, sand, and sea that would shape his life’s journey. He attended Clearwater Central Catholic High School, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and embraced his Catholic faith. Terence’s Confirmation name, Aloysius, reflected his deep connection to his spiritual journey and passion for helping others.

With an adventurous spirit, an unwavering work ethic, and a willingness to learn, Terence pursued a diverse range of careers throughout his life.  He initially embarked on a career in commercial fishing, where he found solace and purpose on the open waters. The challenges and rewards of this profession fueled his love for the sea and instilled in him a deep appreciation for nature’s beauty. Terence’s innate curiosity and passion for learning led him to explore other fields. He honed his skills as an HVAC/Electrical Specialist, developing his own company and ensuring the comfort and well-being of countless individuals.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Terence had an impressive talent as a trained boxer. He devoted countless hours to honing his skills in the ring, displaying determination, discipline, and a relentless drive to succeed. His boxing journey served as a testament to his resilience and unwavering spirit, inspiring others with his passion and tenacity. He had the privilege of being trained by the same mentor as the legendary Rocky Marciano, and his disciplined training instilled in him a strong work ethic and perseverance.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Terence embraced life to the fullest, finding joy in a multitude of hobbies and adventures. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. Scuba diving allowed him to explore the mysteries of the deep, immersing himself in the wonders of the underwater world. Terence also had a culinary flair and enjoyed experimenting with new recipes, delighting family and friends with his delicious creations. He cherished the freedom of bike riding, the joy of helping others, the thrill of traveling to new places, and the simple pleasure of spending quality time with loved ones.

Terence’s infectious smile, witty sense of humor, and ability to light up any room made him a beloved presence in the lives of those around him. He had a unique gift for bringing people together and creating laughter-filled memories that will endure forever.

Terence is survived by his wife Mary Flanagan, loving children, Sean Flanagan and wife Alissa Flanagan, Tara Adams and husband Michael Adams, and Kellee Flanagan, as well as three grandchildren Gabriella Brocato, Grizzly and Isaac Adams who were the pride and joy of his life. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Kevin Flanagan, Andrew Flanagan, and Thomas Flanagan, along with, Katie Flanagan, Brendan Flanagan, Brian Flanagan, Andrew Flanagan, and Thomas Flanagan Terence’s niece and nephews who shared many cherished moments and adventures together. Terence was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ann Flanagan.

Condolences for the loss of Terry. We worked together many years ago at Florida Power and I recall Terry was a hard worker, fun to work with, and always ready to lend a hand to customers and co-workers. One weekend I mentioned I was going to help my parents tear off their roof to replace it, and Terry and Gene Beggs jumped in and were the first to want to assist on a Saturday afternoon. Will never forget his genuine kindness. Peace and Prayers!
