Teri Lee Mefford, 62, of Holiday, Florida, passed away on May 27, 2021 after a long battle of cancer at Moffitt cancer center while surrounded by her husband and true love of 35 years, Barry; her son, Ross; and her daughter, Jenna.
Teri had the most electric soul and was always the flashiest person in a room. If you knew her, you’d probably think of her anytime you hear Frank Sinatra, Shania Twain, Queen.. she radiated powerhouse energy and she reflected that onto her children and her “children” that she would take in regardless of the situation, her home was open to all of the neighborhood kids and they all knew “Momma T” would be there for them always. Even those that weren’t hers, she always wanted to make everyone feel as special as possible. She always made sure that anyone she cared about was taken care of, especially for Christmas and birthdays. There’s no one with a bigger, caring heart than Teri, besides the one person to match her heart, Barry. The dynamic duo. They are the definition of “opposites attract” but they also radiate eternal love around each other, anyone around them can see and feel that. She also proved she was the strongest fighter against the hellish disease, cancer. She beat esophageal cancer after intense chemo, radiation, and a feeding tube. After being cleared, we saw light. But then she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Barry brought her to a million treatments, some that broke her down, the roller coaster stayed going. She fought the longest fight and proved to her family that no matter what happens, you can face any bullshit in life and everything happens for a reason. Sometimes we might not know that reason, but just remember it and always let everyone in your life know exactly how you feel, because someday, you might not get the chance to. Always hold the good times close and appreciate those memories till your last breath.

Please accept my condolences to you and your family for the loss of your Amazing Mom. She was one of the strongest women I wished I’d known. But I have the privilege of knowing her daughter and hearing all the great things her Mom did and accomplished. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
