On Wednesday, December 1, Victor Commune, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at age 83.

Victor was born on September 27, 1938 In Brooklyn, NY to Victor and Dorothy Commune. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961 and was a piping designer following his service. 

Victor had a passion for his BMW motorcycles and loved learning about cars old and new. From his years of riding, he was awarded a 600,000 mile award from BMW Motorrad USA, which is equivalent to riding around the world 24 times. He was an active member of the BMW Riders of Tampa Bay and the Golden Eagles Motorcycle Club – Tampa. He could be found leading and joining rides, mapping out new routes for their weekly ride, and of course, finding the best breakfast and lunch spots around. 

He was known for his infectious smile, and his warm and witty personality. He had a great sense of humor and was always quick with his jokes.

He loved staying active and enjoyed outings with his wife. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand, whether it was a family member, friend, or neighbor. He was a devoted catholic and was a parishioner at St. Thomas Aquinas Church.  

Victor was preceded in death by his father, Victor and mother, Dorthy. He is survived by his wife Dolores, his brother Allan and two sisters Carol and Lea, his two children, Victor and his wife Kathy and Rose and her husband Brian, and his 5 grandchildren, Amanda and her husband Drew, Katelyn and her husband John, Ryan, Isabelle and her husband Nathan, and Nicholas. The viewing will be on Sunday, December 5 from 1-3 pm at Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home, 8825 Old CR 54 and the church service will take place on Monday, December 6 at 10 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. In remembrance of Victor’s life, the family asks that charitable donations be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Church.

We will miss Vic, it was a pleasure to know him through the BMW group. Even though we can not attend his services, our thoughts and prayer are with Dolores and Vic’s family.

The Schubert Family will miss Vic. He was a very good neighbor especially to LaVerne. Prayers are with Dolores and family.
