Walter B provided exceptional service to the people of Preston County. In addition to his Deputy Sheriff responsibilities Walt was entrusted with maintaining the vehicle fleet, saving the County countless dollars and ensuring the Deputies ability to respond where they were needed. Walt was able to keep my vehicle roadworthy in spite of the special DeLauder treatment it received, which made Walter a mixture of wizard and saint in my eyes. You will be missed my friend.

Walt and I spent some time together in the 1980s. He took his job seriously but was always one to find humor in a situation when that was possible. Rest in peace.
