Walter Klingman was born on July 19, 1937, to Walter and Helen Klingman in Brooklyn, N.Y. It was there he grew up and pursed an education at St. Francis College. He was an ROTC member in the United States Marine Corp for five years. He married the love of his life, Audrey Eklund, on October 8, 1960, at Our Lady of Angels R.C. Church in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Together they raised three children in Smithtown, N.Y. Walter’s business career began in sales in the fine chemical industry. Ten years later he embarked on a lifelong career in the scaffolding industry. Walter enjoyed spending time with his family, which included five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He and Audrey retired to Tarpon Springs, Florida in 2001, where he enjoyed boating, fishing, painting, golf, tennis and spending time with friends. He is best remembered for his warm, fun-loving personality, his calm and easy nature and his capacity for great storytelling! He is survived by his wife, Audrey, of 62 years; Children, Gerry, Karen and Rick; Daughters-in-law, Penney, Margot and Nicole; Grandchildren, Tom, Jennifer, Kevin, Jack and Liza; Great-Grandchildren, Catherine, Henry and Audrey (coming soon!)

Please join us to celebrate the life of Walter Klingman. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 28th at 11:00 am at St. Ignatius of Antioch. This will be followed by a “Celebration of Life” at the Tarpon Cove Clubhouse at 1:00 pm.
