Waneta Jane Scheel, 93, of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 28th, 2024. She is survived by her children John H. Scheel, Earl J. Scheel, Constance Raver, and Margaret Jarrell; sixteen grandchildren; as well as 23 great-grandchildren.

Jane was born in DuBois, Pennsylvania, to Erma and Hiram Hoyt. She received her R.N. degree in 1951 and went on to practice nursing for 52 years.

During nurse’s training, she met her future husband, Earl, when he was a patient having an appendectomy. They married on March 28, 1953, at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, where Earl was in Artillery School while serving in the US Marine Corps.

Earl and Jane lived in and raised four children in Ohio until they retired to Florida in 1984. They moved from Palm Beach Gardens to New Port Richey in 1995. They joined the Christian Reformed Church until it closed when they joined the Holiday Community Fellowship Church.

Earl and Jane were married for 59 years at Earl’s passing in 2012. Earl is resting in the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, which is where Jane will join him.
