William Smith of New Port Richey, Florida passed away on Oct 31,2024 in his home. He is survived by his wife and love of his life of 68 years Judith Smith, His children Kimberly (Jack) Schwirian, Jeffrey Smith, Mark (Abi) Smith, and Leilani (Anthony) Licari, including 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren
William was born in Monroe, Ohio, and graduated from Port William High School in 1952, William was a proud Korean War Veteran, and proudly served in the Honor Guard referred to as the Old Guard and participated in the moving of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of rights in 1952 in Washinton DC where it is located today. He then began his career at NCR in Ohio where he worked for 13 years. He Moved with his family to Florida in 1967.
William retired from the Pasco County Schools System after 20 years of service. He had a love for Baseball, he coached little league and Umpired for many years. He also enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Tampa Bay Rays. One of his favorite hobbies was woodworking, he used his skills making furniture and birdhouses along with many other pieces to share with others. He was a member of the Christian church of Holiday, where he served as an Elder for many years.
William wrote songs and enjoyed his love of music. This was the way he expressed himself and events happening around the world.
He will be missed by all.
