Robert C Phelan, 65, passed away 1, July 2018 in New Port Richey, Florida. He will be buried with his parents in Queens, New York.
Robert was born on February 21, 1953 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. He graduated Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in 1971. He then joined the Navy November 10, 1974 as an ETN3 and finished as an CTI2 SU. He was a devoted sailor and loved his military life. After the military, he continued his education at Baruch College and graduated with his Bachelor's degree in 1982. He then had a successful career as Vice President and Department Head at Chemical Bank.
He later had 5 children who were his life and joy, Melissa, Robert, Bridget, Sean and Lori. He loved all his children more than life itself and would do anything for them. He was always there for them no matter what.
After some time Robert moved to Florida where he met his wife Susan Wilkins- Phelan. They got married July 16, 2013. With this marriage Robert gained a Step- daughter and many Step Great grandchildren. He loved his new family and had many wonderful memories with them.
During this time he welcomed his first granddaughter Emma Busek. He loved her so much and you could always see the joy in his face every time he saw her.
Robert C. Phelan leaves behind his 5 children Melissa, Robert, Bridget, Sean and Lori; his grandchildren, Zethan, Morgan and Emma; his brother and sisters, Billy, Patty, Ellen, Kathy which he had such a loving a deep connection with. He also leaves behind his wife, Susan Wilkins-Phelan; and Step daughter, Diana, as well as Gracey, Patience, and his many other step grandchildren.
