Steven Nicholas Uhal, 48, of Wesley Chapel, Florida passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife surrounded by family on February 2, 2025 after a courageous fight against cancer. Steven is survived by his wife Amy, and son Charlie. Mother Sharon Uhal, sister Jennifer Wootton (Mike) and nieces Olivia and Madeline. He is reunited in eternity with his Father Timothy Uhal.
Steven grew up in Damascus, Maryland before moving to Wesley Chapel where he served as a Pasco County Sheriff’s Deputy for 20 years. Corporal Uhal most recently served as a school resource officer at Stewart Middle School where he was beloved by both students and staff.
Steven and Charlie share a mutual love of baseball and he made a lasting impression on many kids as a Coach. The Uhal motto during Steven’s cancer treatment became “Daddy never misses a game.” In addition to coaching baseball, Steven loved spending time with family, grilling by the pool, and cheering on the Washington Redskins football team.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 7, at Grace Family Church, 22920 FL-54, Lutz FL with a reception to follow at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 29, 4300 Land O’ Lakes Blvd, Land O’ Lakes FL.

I am so very sorry for your loss, I honestly can’t imagine. (Actually, I can, but as a mother, your journey has so very much mirrored the journey our son took who also had just turned 48 before passing) You have been such an amazing person throughout this horrible journey. Never wavering and always providing positive outlooks. Throughout there have been many friends that stood by you. Rely on Mom and Tom for help, I know Tom will definitely be there as a male figure for Charlie. Take time for yourself to gather strength and courage to continue down the path of life with Charlie. Steven will always be part of your and Charlie’s life tucked away carefully in your hearts.

My deepest and most sincere condolences. Know that you are not alone, and that God will be your strength in times of trouble: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” — Psalm 46:1.
I’m so glad I had the chance to meet Steven—he seemed so cool! He is now resting and free from pain. He will forever be alive in your heart and Charlie’s. Sending you many hugs and prayers during this difficult time.
