September 24, 1952~October 08, 2026

Diane Francis [Dion] Mounts, age 74, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8th, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on September 24th, 1952, in Huntington Beach, California, Diane was the daughter of Frances Knutzen and Richard Dion. She earned a degree in Cosmetology from Marchman Vocational Center, and in 1988, she and her family opened Diane’s Harium, a full-service salon in Hudson, Florida.

Diane’s love for her family was at the heart of who she was. Although she loved traveling and experiencing new places, nothing compared to the happiness she found in being surrounded by the people she loved most. She was incredibly proud of her children and their accomplishments, and nothing brought her greater joy than watching her seven grandchildren grow, succeed, and find their own paths in life. Through her love, encouragement, and the memories she created, Diane gave her family a gift that will last a lifetime.

Diane is survived by her beloved husband, Teddy Mounts; her children, Teresa Courchene (Richard), Samantha Downey (Michael), and Theodore Mounts (Karisa); her seven grandchildren, Cameron, Tatum, and Elizabeth Courchene, Jacquelyn and Abigail Downey, and Madelyn and Molly Mounts; and her sisters, Rita Stinson, Kathy Deitch, and Marie Dykeman. She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Knutzen; father, Richard Dion; and brother, Don Dion.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, at Dobies Funeral Home, 6616 Congress Avenue, New Port Richey, FL 34653. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by the service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Diane was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. She will forever be remembered as a loving mom and grandma, whose heart, love, and devotion to her family will never be forgotten.

Aunt Diane will be missed more than mere words can express. She was loved by her many nieces and nephews. She was the young, cool aunt who we could talk to about anything. She was fun to be around and we enjoyed spending time with her.

My heart breaks for all of you, and for our family. Our world will never be the same without her. Sending my love and prayers to Uncle Ted and my dear cousins.

Teddy and family: My heartfelt sympathies as I know your hearts are breaking! I am sorry I cannot be there today as you celebrate Diane. I always liked her! I remember meeting her at Kenny’s when you came in with Teresa as a baby and thought she was so beautiful. God be with you. Cherish your memories!

To the Mounts family. So many happy memories with your mom and family from the ballet studio, hanging out in Tanglewood and her hair salon. I can remember her at Marchman and having multiple different hair styles preformed on my hair throughout the years. But nothing compares to her and my mom working together. She made my mom so happy. I know my mom and her are catching up in Heaven. From my family all our love and condolences.
