June 04, 1986~January 28, 2021

Anthony Lawrence Randich left this earth on January 28, 2021 after a ten-year battle with brain cancer. He was born June 4, 1986 in Greeley CO, to Kim and Keith Randich and grew up in Rochester, NY. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Dr. Taylor Whitley Randich, and daughter Charlie Grace Randich, sister Elizabeth (Alan) Roth, nephew Ty Roth, sister-in-law Jordan Whitley (Alex) Honbarger, brothers-in-law Davey (Yvonne) Whitley and Jason (Mallory) Whitley, niece Ellory Whitley, Uncles Lawrence (JessAnn) Randich and Michael Randich, Cousin Melissa (Steven) Podlecki, mother and father-in-law Jan and Davis Whitley, and Grandmother Lillian Randich. Son Everett Anthony Randich is scheduled to arrive February 17, 2021.

Dr. Randich was a Hospice and Palliative Care Physician at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. He was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, where he was a member of the baseball team, and Lake Erie College of Medicine. He interned at Ohio Health O’Bleness Memorial Hospital, in Athens, Ohio, and completed a fellowship at Ohio Health Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Anthony was an exercise enthusiast. He was an avid CrossFit participant, and built a gym for his family in his home. After his first operation in medical school, he organized a 1000-mile one-person bike ride from the Florida-Georgia state line to Key West and back to raise funds for the National Brain Tumor Society. He loved surfing and bike riding. He was a long driver on the golf course. Local fauna knew to gather in the middle of the fairway to escape his powerful, yet wayward strikes.

His experience with his own post-operative treatments steered him from a career as an Army Captain doing emergency medicine to a civilian with a medical discharge specializing in hospice and palliative care. The scars he wore on the top of his head became the stripes he showed his new patients to let them know he sat in their chair and knew what they were experiencing.

While his patients will miss this caring manner, his family will miss his sense of humor, the pride and love he showed for his family, and his uncanny ability to find a replay of a Tim Tebow-era Florida Gators game on the television at any time of the day or night.

To paraphrase St. Timothy: Anthony fought the good fight, he finished the race, he has kept the faith. From now on there is laid up for him the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to him on that day—and not only to him, but to all who crave His appearing.
