Barbara Ann Hollander, 78, of Florida, went home to Heaven on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 13, 1947, in Brooklyn, her parents Alma and Henry Schoefer, predeceased her. Barbara lived a life filled with love, faith, and creativity. She was the beloved wife of Louis Hollander Jr., and together they shared a beautiful life and a deep, enduring love. She was a devoted mother to her children Christine and Louis (wife Aki), and a proud grandmother to her cherished grandson, Louis (Nickname Lotto). Barbara shared a deep bond with her brother, Arthur, and his husband Robert. Barbara was the warmth, strength, happiness, and love of her family. She was the rock upon which we all built our lives.
In 1989, Barbara and her family moved from Queens, New York to New Port Richey, Florida, where she continued to nurture her love of art, nature, and caring for others. She was known for her kindness, optimism, and deep faith in God — qualities that touched everyone who knew her.
Barbara’s gentle spirit and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be forever missed and always lovingly remembered.
Barbara requested direct cremation. The family will host a service and a “Celebration of Life” the early part of next year

In Loving Memory of My Beloved Wife, Barbara
My beloved wife, Barbara, has gone home to be with Our Lord. We would have celebrated 57 years of marriage this coming April. We were blessed to share a lifetime together, beginning as teenage sweethearts and growing together through every joy and challenge that life brought us.
Barbara was not only my wife, but my best friend, my heart, and my greatest blessing. Together we raised two wonderful children and were further blessed with a precious grandson — each a reflection of her love, strength, and kindness.
Though my heart aches, I find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, embraced by Our Lord Jesus Christ. I know that one day we will be reunited in Heaven, surrounded by the love of our Savior and all those who went before us.
Until that day, I will cherish every memory, every smile, and every moment we shared. She was, and always will be, my greatest gift.

Louie Sorry my words are late, this is the first time I realized this page was available. Where does go and where to you go the describe the life of the perfect women, wife and mother. One of the nest things in my meeting you and becoming your big Brother was Barabara. She was Kind, Loving and caring. I say with all honesty I don’t think I ever heard her say a negative or harsh word about anyone ( except you of course but that is understandable LOL. Always a smile on that beautiful Angelic face.
She had a wonderful smile which I never saw leave that angelic face, She loved life and family and that showed every time you were around he. She was not only kind and loving as I previously said their was no doubt this was not a show but the honest personality of a loving Christian woman.
I envied you guys in the faith and trust you put into our lord and savior. It is what got her through this terrible illness. Even during disappointments with some of diagnoses she never lost sight that the doctors might have been the hands on people but the Lord and Savior was looking over her. I would like to have been able to be with you guys at the end so I could have thanked her for coming into my life and give her a kiss good bye. Most importantly. Ask her to plead my case with our lord. If there is anyone the Lord could not turn down its Barbara. Love you and see you on the other side.

Dear Lou. My condolences to you and your family on the loss of your wife Barbara. Sorry I was away on vacation and on a cruise during the morning period. Wish I had been available to share your hurt.
Love JC & Gladys.

Dennis and I are so sad to hear of Barbara’s passing. She was such a warm and wonderful person. She was a great support for and Louie all those involved in organizing the annual police reunion. We will treasure all those memories. May she find peace in Gods’s arms and may her family be comforted by His love. Dennis and Joan Ahern

Dear Lou, John and I have not been back to Florida in quite a few years nor sadly not been in touch., thus this has come as a complete shock to us. Barbara was a beautiful person and her passing we know has left you with unmeasurable grief. We, as you, know that she is now with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ bathed in his love and comfort! We pray that you find strength and comfort in your 56 years together, those beautiful memories of your lives well lived and the comfort from family and friends! God Bless you and give you strength as you navigate this journey!
With love and great sadness, John and Barbara Silvestro
