Benedetto Esposito, Ben to his family and friends, left us November 4^th peacefully after a long life.  He is survived by Dolores Esposito, his loving wife of 68 years, daughters Karen and Janet as well as sons Michael and Edward.

Ben was born on Staten Island, NY, on July 26, 1934 to Susan and Benedetto Esposito. He was the oldest of four boys and some of the responsibility of the family fell on him after his father passed away when he was fifteen.  At seventeen, he joined the Navy and was stationed in Korea so he could send money home to help support his mother and brothers. He served honorably and returned home at age 21.

Soon after he joined the NYC fire department where he worked for 23 years rising to the rank of Captain.  He retired in 1980 and soon relocated to Tarpon Springs, Florida where he could be near his brother Lou who was living there.

After a few years of retirement, he wanted to work again and joined the USPS where he worked in the Clearwater post office for 10 years.  He retired again and began focusing on more personal endeavors.

He and Dolores loved to cruise and 120 times they boarded a ship and sailed the world. Ben enjoyed fishing and would take multiday offshore trips to catch the big ones.

In 2001, they moved to their current home in a 55 plus community and found a second childhood with their friends.  His day was filled with golf, happy hours, karaoke, dinner parties and more cruises.

During all these years, he always put his family first.  He always talked about his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He wanted to be involved and was always the first to help.   Dad will be missed but his family and friends and will never be forgotten for he made a large impression on us all.
