Carol Elaine Brenner was born to Joyce and Robert Fox on November 26th, 1952 in Pensacola, Florida. She passed away peacefully in her sleep Memorial Day, May 25th, 2026, late in the evening.
Carol is the oldest of 8 and the only girl. She was a second mother to her younger brothers (Robert Fox, the late Allen Fox, the late Steve Fox, James Fox, David Fox, Donald Fox and Michael Fox). She graduated high school at the young age of 16 and went directly into nursing school. Shortly after, she joined the Air Force and left when she was a Captain. She then served as a civilian nurse for about 50 years after that.
Carol is survived by her 3 children Brian Scott Brenner, Valerie Kaye Duffy and Melissa Gail Hebert. She also has 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
My mom was the most amazing person I have ever had the great luck to have ever met. My siblings and I were fortunate enough to have her as a mother. She cared for people her entire life. She served our country in the Air Force, she served people who were in her care as a nurse for over 50 years, and she served and cared for her family and friends. She was the best example of an amazing human there ever could be. She met with the angels and is now serving our Lord in Heaven. She will be missed in a most intense way, and Never forgotten. I was blessed to have an Angel as a mother. We will love you forever Mom. I still can’t believe you’re gone.

There are people in this world who open their hearts and their homes without being asked — who simply show up when you need them most. Carol was that person for me.
She was my friend’s mom, but to me, she was so much more than that. During some of the hardest seasons of my life, when home felt uncertain and heavy, she made me feel seen, safe, and loved. She had a way of doing that — not with grand gestures, but with quiet, steady warmth that stays with you long after you leave the room.
She was, in every way that mattered, a second mom to me. And I am a better person for having known her love.
To Brian and the entire family — I am so deeply sorry for your loss. But please know that her kindness rippled far beyond your walls and touched lives she may never have fully known. She will be carried in my heart always.
With so much love and gratitude,
James
