Charlene Vassalli

October 20, 1947~March 25, 2023

Charlene Vassalli, at the age of 75, passed away unexpectedly the morning of Saturday, March 25th, 2023. She was predeceased by her mother, Angelina Vassalli Polizzi, and her father, Luigi Vassalli; and survived by her daughter, Dawn DeMaio Bower; and her grandchildren, Matthew and Megan Bower. She was also “Nana” to Kayla, Allie, Jack, and Arya, and truly loved by her extended Bower family.

Charlene worked as the faith formation director at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Working in the education program, at Friday night dinners, in the choir, by setting up rummage sales, at seasonal events, and as an integral member of each person’s day-to-day life, she touched the lives of everyone she met. Caring deeply about every interaction, she wanted to know how everyone was doing and how she could help at all times. She was a mother and grandmother to all without even knowing how deeply her love impacted her peers, her students, and every person she encountered.

The viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 4th at Thomas B. Dobies Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 4910 Bartelt Rd, Holiday, FL 34690. Her funeral will start at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5th at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 4843 Mile Stretch Dr, Holiday, FL 34690. In lieu of flowers, given the timing of the service taking place during Holy Week and flowers not being permitted inside, the family is asking for donations to be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church

Charlene was our next-door neighbor for a few years and she was a lovely lady.
She was very kind and very dedicated to her church family.
I know that she loved her grandchildren very much and spoke very highly of them along with her daughter. She loved spending time with them. she spoke of her church quite often and I know she was very busy with her church enjoying her time there.
Charlene will definitely be missed very much, she was a very special lady. Rest in peace, Charlene, and now you’re in the arms of our Jesus.
