CHANDLER, Charles A. “Chuck”, 86, of Tarpon Springs passed away September 21, 2025. Chuck was born March 21, 1939, in Pontiac, Michigan to Charles A. Sr. and Mary Louise Chandler. He graduated from Pontiac High School in 1957 and married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Chandler. Chuck was soon drafted into the Army as a radioman, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. Sharon joined him and had their first child, Christy. In 1964 they experienced the Great Alaskan earthquake. After the service, Chuck and Sharon returned to Auburn Hills where Chuck was a fireman and later owned an excavating business replacing the sewer systems in Pontiac. In 1974 they left Auburn Hills, Michigan and moved to Tarpon Springs. They were owners of Pro Hardware in Pappas Plaza and then opened Tarpon Paint Center and Machine Repair, in Tarpon Springs, a respected business in the community for more than twenty-five years. Chuck was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce spearheading many community events such as the Annual Tarpon Springs Fine Arts Festival. He was involved in the Sertoma Club and was once president. Chuck loved golf, played every weekend and had a team of golfing buddies to whom to this day are close. Throughout their marriage of 64 years, Chuck and Sharon loved traveling in their motor home experiencing most of the states. Chuck was very talented–a jack-of-trades and could build or fix anything. He also played many musical instruments, with the organ being his favorite, which he enjoyed playing daily. Chuck adored his wife and family especially spending time with his only grandson and taught him many skills. He is survived by his two children, Christy (Kevin) Birge, Jeff (Vicki) Chandler; one grandson, Austin Birge; brother-in-law, Thomas Smith and four nieces and nephews. Preceded in death: His loving wife, Sharon. Memorial service and entombment will be held in the mausoleum, at 1:00, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Cycadia Cemetery, 1021 E.
