Charles B. Simmons, known to friends and family as Chuck, was born on October 15, 1949, in Oceanside, Long Island, New York.  After a long battle with Kidney Disease, he passed quietly in his sleep and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 02, 2026, in New Port Richey, Florida.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Linda, of 47 years and their three daughters, Kathryn “Katie” (Mat), MaryAnna (Jon), and Sarah, as well as 12 grandchildren that he loved dearly, and his brother, George Simmons (Jeanne). He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Elaine Simmons and his brother, Bill Simmons.

He attended Oceanside High School and then went on to get his AAS at SUNY Cobleskill Ag and Tech.

Chuck had multiple careers throughout his years and enjoyed each one. He started as a stock boy at Bohack’s in Oceanside, went on to be a florist, a 911 operator, and when he moved his family to Florida in 1988, he continued his 911 position for the City of Tampa. He then went on to be a Crime Scene Technician, Forensic Investigator, Composite Artist, and Latent Fingerprint Examiner. He received numerous awards and acknowledgements in each of his positions.

Chuck loved the Lord and served Him in so many venues throughout the years with his teaching, singing and his love of art.

Chuck’s greatest passions in life were his family, his art, and his love of nature. More than anything, Chuck treasured his family and the time they spent together. He loved bringing everyone together and made every effort to create moments that would become cherished memories. His family was at the heart of his life, and the love he had for them was evident in the way he cared for them, encouraged them, and simply enjoyed being with them.

After retirement, Chuck fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming an artist. Through his paintings, he shared his deep love of nature and invited others to see the beauty of God’s creation. For Chuck, nature was more than something beautiful to look at. It was a reflection of God’s love and a reminder of His presence. Every painting was another opportunity for Chuck to share that love and to tell God’s story to everyone around him.

His greatest gift was not only the beauty he created, but the love, faith, and joy he shared with everyone blessed enough to know him.

There will be a Celebration of life on Sunday, August 16 at 1pm.  Everyone is invited.
