Charles M. Smolios, of Holiday, Florida passed away December 10th, 2022, at 92. He is survived by his children Mike C. Smolios, Cynthia (Dwaine) Tilford, Fannie (Gary) Vallangeon; five grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Anna Loannillis, Sevasti Galoozis.
Charlie served in the Navy. He grew up in the Tarpon Springs community, working on, and then running sponging boats. He settled in his older years to running the deck. In the 1950’s Charlie married a local girl, Carolyne Jeanene (Gordon) Smolios. They would have three children after they moved to work in U.S. Steel, Gary works. There, he eventually became a Supervisor in the BOP Shop. That’s where He continued to work hard, (some of that time he worked two jobs to feed the family.) 25 years later, he returned to Tarpon and worked at what he loved to do; sponging and being a mechanic.
Charlie will be missed and loved by all his family and friends. If you were blessed enough to know him you will always miss his smile.
Dad, thank you for all the love you gave us.
