Bauer, Cheryl, 69, New Port Richey, FL passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at home after living with ALS for several years.
Cheryl was a Coast Guard Auxiliary member for 14 years serving in the 9ER District, Alexandria Bay, NY, holding many offices, including Coxswain, Flotilla Commander, Division Secretary and 9ER Photographer. Her main passion throughout life was educating children across the world, from Paterson, NJ to Dubai, UAE and Kuwait.
Her interests included spending time with family and friends, gardening, sewing, baking Christmas cookies and photography. She enjoyed boating and fishing on the Saint Lawrence River.
She is survived by her husband Richard, daughter, Leah (John) Ray, 2 grandchildren, Lotte and Penelope Ray, sister Renee (Dennis) Owens, niece, Ashley Lamwers and sister-in-law Marian (James) Speid.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Dobies Funeral Home 6616 Congress Street, New Port Richey, FL. A service celebrating her life will be held from 4:00 – 5:00 PM also at Dobies Funeral Home.
