88, of New Port Richey, passed away October 24, 2018. He had lived in New Port Richey ever since he retired in 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by Glenna, his wife of 67 years and his children, John (Rebecca), James (Rebecca) and Jo Ellen Ewald (Scott); 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Dave graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1954 with a Bachelors of Architecture degree and has been an avid Bearcats fan ever since. He opened his own practice, David B. Hill and Associates, Architects in Seymour, IN in 1964. He was appointed to the newly formed State of Indiana Administrative Building Council by then – governor Otis Bowen in 1971. In 1975, he became president of the Central/Southern Indiana Chapter of the American Institute of Architects; and in 1979, he became president of the Indiana Society of Architects. In 1982 he sold his firm to his partners and moved to Louisiana where he eventually worked for the State of Louisiana. He became the Chief Architect of the State of Louisiana in 1990 and served in that position until his retirement in 1995.

Dave was a very loving husband, father and friend. He knew no strangers and was always there for a friend in need. He was an avid golfer and had a wonderful tenor voice, singing to his family and friends because he always carried a song in his heart. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
