David R. Buchwalter, 84, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on October 18th, 2025.
Born May 30, 1941 in Pawtucket, RI to Paul R Buchwalter and Lorraine Meck. attended Onondaga Valley Academy in Syracuse, New York graduate in 1959. Joined the Coast Guard and then attended US Navy RTA school graduating first in his class. When he returned home, he worked for AT&T for a while and then joined IBM and retired after 30 years. Was a member and Deacon at first Baptist Church of New Port Richey Florida and a member of the Gideon since 1998. Served as treasurer and Gideon card chairman for over 20 years with help from his wife Janet. Met Janet Monagle in Syracuse, New York and was married for 57 years. She predeceased him in 2021. He is survived by his brother Paul Buchwalter, son Richard Buchwalter, and daughter Carol Ann Matava, son-in-law Ray Matava.
Private funeral will be held in Akron Pennsylvania, and he will be buried next to his beloved wife Janet.

My heart goes out to the Buchwalter family. I just recently leaned of David’s passing. He was a man of great faith and did so much to honor his dear Janet through the word of God. May the good Lord keep David and Janet in his loving arms.
