My thoughts and prayers are with you Michelle and Allen and your families. You father gave me my chance in the finance industry back in 1993 and then brought me over to the Car division in 99 and was instrumental in my career. He will surely be missed.

We knew Don as he was the starter at our golf course. Don always greeted me at the 10th hole with a one liner that made me laugh. He had a great, dry sense of humor and will be greatly missed.

Dang Donny you were really a great friend to me and my children We shared so many memories with you and no one will understand our crazy friendship. I think about you often & pray for you, I had to find out about your passing by googling it, wondering a why you didn’t text me back lol with one of your jokes. I can write a mini book on our outings together. But R.I.P Friend I’ll never forget you & all you did for me. you’re definitely missed.😩♥️

Sorry for the late condolence. I was just thinking about some funny memories of Don. Don hired me in 2000 at Wells Fargo. I had to go meet with him in Tampa (first time meeting). I wore a suit. He was on the phone in his little office at the back of the office. So he pointed at a chair for me to sit at, then mouthed “I’ll be another minute.” He was ripping into a past due car loan customer. “Bring me my damn car NOW or pay!” I was like…holy crap, what am I getting myself into. But then to me, he was nice as could be. Although first thing Don said to me when he hung up was, “don’t ever wear a suit again, or the dealers will think your a IRS agent or the feds.” True story! He was a hardass but really knew the auto finance business and I learned a lot from him that I still use to this day. He was a fun person outside of work and I miss his dry humor and short giggles in between his sarcastic remarks. I hope Michelle and Allen and family are doing good.
