March 28, 1943~May 28, 2026

The family of Doris Rosser Littlejohn announces with deep sadness her passing on May 27, 2026. Doris was born on March 28, 1943, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She moved with her family to Albany, Georgia, in 1951, where she excelled academically, graduating as a four-year honor student.

It was in Albany that she met the love of her life, Clinton Wayne Littlejohn—the neighborhood paper boy—whom she married in June 1960. While Wayne served a four-year term in the United States Air Force, Doris laid the foundation for a remarkable career. Upon his return, the couple settled in Albany, where Doris completed specialized training on the IBM 360 Mod 50 computing system, graduating first in her class. She began her professional journey as a Data Systems Control Operator with Aero Commander.

In 1976, Doris and Wayne moved to Winter Haven, Florida. Shortly after, she joined Haven Federal Savings and Loan Association as a cashier. Through dedication, intelligence, and strong leadership, she advanced rapidly—serving as Branch Manager in Lake Wales before rising to Vice President of Loan Operations. When the Resolution Trust Corporation oversaw the closure of many savings and loan institutions, the head of the RTC was so impressed by Doris’s professionalism and expertise that she was personally retained to assist with the process. In 1995, she began a new chapter with Wheeler and Travis Attorneys at Law, where she continued working until her retirement.

Beyond her distinguished career, Doris found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid reader, a skilled bridge player, and loved dancing late into the night with her beloved husband, Wayne. Their marriage was a true partnership that spanned more than six decades, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.
Doris is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Clinton Wayne Littlejohn; her son, Mark D. Littlejohn; her daughter-in-law, In Shim Littlejohn (GiGi); her daughter, Lisa Hartzler; her son-in-law, Jon Hartzler; five cherished grandchildren; and two beloved great-grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of grace, resilience, quiet strength and true southern charm that touched everyone who knew her.
