Edward “Eddie” C Clemmons, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and treasured member of the Roanoke Rapids and Hudson communities, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 75, after a brief battle with cancer. Born July 2, 1950, in Halifax, North Carolina, to the late Dorothy Marie and Leaton Clemmons, Eddie now joins them for the ultimate family reunion, surely keeping the angels entertained. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Fuller Clemmons of Hudson, Florida. Eddie’s legacy continues through his loving family, including, Linda Turner of Halifax, NC, and Henry Drewett of Winterville, NC, his sons, David(Lisa) Clemmons of Rock Hill, SC, and William Clemmons of Halifax, NC. His stepdaughters, Tanya(Chris) Edmundson and Corena Bristow, both of Greenville, NC,.  He had seven grandchildren: Myra, Myles, Alexis, Raven, Tinliegh, Laken, and Kaden.

His professional life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his community as an Animal Control Officer in Halifax County, NC. His dedication to the welfare of animals demonstrated his compassionate spirit.

Eddie’s love for TV westerns and crime shows was more than a hobby; rather a passion. He had a small-town charm and southern soul who loved the simple pleasures in life. He with his wife at his side built their own home, cruised the Caribbean and enjoyed all-you-can-eat buffets. He could often be found sitting with a Pepsi in hand, taking in the quiet moments and waving to neighbors. His life was full of laughter, hard work, and the kind of joy found in everyday simple things.

As we remember Eddie, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of the love he gave and the enduring impact he made on those fortunate enough to have known him. Eddie’s journey on earth may have come to a close, but his story will continue for generations.

Nancy and family. I was blessed to call you and Eddie friends. I am so sad that he is gone. We liked to joke with each other. I hope you feel God’s arms around you giving you comfort, strength and peace knowing Eddie is with the Lord. I am always here if you need a shoulder to lean on or cry on. You are very special.
