Eileen Delia Walsh (nee Gorman) passed away peacefully on May 18th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hoboken, New Jersey, on March 20, 1944, she was the cherished daughter of the late Timothy and Frances Gorman. Eileen attended high school at St. Dominic’s in Jersey City, New Jersey, and briefly pursued nursing studies before dedicating herself to raising her family.

On December 15, 1962, Eileen married the love of her life, Robert Walsh of Jersey City, NJ. Together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, devotion, laughter, and cherished family memories.

Eileen was the beloved matriarch of her family … a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, adored great grandmother, and cherished friend. She was an avid sewer who enjoyed creating curtains, costumes, and countless items for those she loved. She treasured time spent playing cards and bingo with family and friends. She loved summers spent at the Jersey Shore. Deeply rooted in family traditions, Eileen found great joy in bringing loved ones together for holidays and celebrations.

Eileen found her greatest happiness in being present for every milestone, celebration, and sporting event involving her grandchildren. Her love, support, and enthusiasm for her family were unwavering.

A devoted parishioner of St. Joseph’s Parish in West Milford, NJ, Eileen was deeply involved in parish life for many years. She generously volunteered her time helping organize countless bazaars, serving on parish committees, and supporting the church community in any way she could. After retiring to Florida, she joined St. Ignatius Church in Tarpon Springs, where she served as a Eucharistic minister. Her faith and dedication to others were guiding forces throughout her life.

Eileen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Walsh. She is survived by her children, Robert and his wife Mary of Avon-by-the-Sea, NJ; Danny of New Brunswick, NJ; Kerry and her husband John of Berkeley Heights, NJ; Brian and his wife Julie of New Providence, NJ; and Meg and her husband Robert of Palm Harbor, FL. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Mackenzie (Victor), Robbie (Maddy), JP, Jack, John (Lauren), Logan, Nora, and Brianne; and her adored great-grandchildren, Brynn and Kaylee, who brought her immense joy. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Timothy Gorman Jr. and Eileen Gorman.

Eileen will be remembered for her strength, generosity, deep faith, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she cherished and the family she loved so deeply.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Church of the Little Flower on Saturday, June 20, 2026. Family and friends are invited to greet the family beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow immediately at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Watchung.
