Elijah De Witt 76, of Land O Lakes. Passed away on April 14, 2024.

Elijah was born in Walterboro, South Carolina, on June 10th, 1947, the son of the late Riddick and Bessie (Garris) De Witt. He worked for a total of 50+ years with Royal American Shows and Archway Amusements. Elijah served his country in the US. Army during the Vietnam War. He was predeceased by his loving son Robert De Witt and survived by Robert’s wife Denise.

He is survived by his son James De Witt of Land O’ Lakes; daughter April De Witt Phillips and her husband Jacob of Tampa; companion Ann Sedlmayr of Land O’ Lakes and her daughter Carla Jae Sedlmayr; sisters Mary “Kitty” Guard of Florida, Helen Mae De Witt of South Carolina; brothers Donald and Ben De Witt both of South Carolina; grandchildren James De Witt II, Robert De Witt, Jonas Gomez, Evan Phillips, Kasandra, Kandace, Kamber, and Kameron; great-grandchildren Logan, Leelan, and Kennedy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

My condolences to family and friends of this “one of a kind” guy. “Gomer” was my favorite brother in law and I’ll always remember him, his entertaining personality and kind heart. Heaven has gained an angel that will be missed dearly on earth.

Memories flooded back to me , all the way to when I first met Gomer . I was 9 maybe 10 years old . Always happy and funny as all heck. Gonna miss ol “Gomes” . Daddy and CJ III are there to greet you. The midway needs you .
