December 01, 1940~January 31, 2025

Surrounded by her loving family, Emma Jean (EJ) Comini, of Holiday, FL, passed away on January 31, 2025.

EJ was born December 1, 1940 in Charleston, WV, the daughter of Ethel (Lorraine) Bishop and Warren Harding Flint.

EJ attended Bridgeville High School. Almost immediately,  she knew she wanted to marry the cute, shy boy in her English class and have a family.   EJ and Paul Comini were wed on June 27, 1959 in their hometown, Bridgeville, PA, in the backyard of her maternal grandmother, Emma (Holloway) Corra, with missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints  officiating. They were  high school sweethearts who have withstood the test of time. Over 65 years, EJ & Paul built their life around family & friends. Together they enjoyed camping, cruising, boating and travel.

EJ loved working as a school crossing guard both in Mt Lebanon , PA and Tarpon Springs, FL for many years.  She was also an advocate for mentally and physically challenged adults at Strong Ties Inc serving as community assistant.

She felt great comfort from joining Compassionate Friends after her youngest son passed away.

She was a woman of great faith in Jesus Christ and her Father in Heaven. She held many callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She especially loved serving in Primary, a program designed to help children feel God’s love for them.

EJ’s legacy and memories will be cherished by her spouse, Paul R Comini ; Her Children: Pamela Virgi (Bill), Paula June (Jim Shelton), Paul Comini (Cheryl); Her 12 Grandchildren: Billy “JR”(Missy) Virgi, Kristin (Brett) Stevenson, Nico Virgi, Jillian (Kody) Stewart; Michael, Max, Matthew, Mitchell, Mia June; Paul Scott Jr, Gianna and Isabella Comini

It is with great sadness that Art @ I heard of Emma Jean’s passing. We have wonderful memories of our times in Mt. Lebanon. We are comforted knowing that she is with Jesus. Billy Graham said “I am not dead, I have just changed my address”. Prayers, love and blessings to all of you.
