Emmanuel “Mike” Kostakis

SPRING HILL, Fla. – Emmanuel “Mike” Kostakis, 46, passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2026, at Tampa General Hospital. He was born on December 12, 1979, in Cleveland, Ohio, to George Kostakis and Kay Kafantaris Williams.

Mike graduated from high school and continued his education at Saint Petersburg College, where he studied Mechanical and Maintenance. He built a career as a Store Manager with GameStop, where he was known for his dedication, leadership, and genuine care for both customers and coworkers.

Mike was a true hippie at heart, with a free spirit, a kind soul, and a heart bigger than life itself. He was a devoted father, loving son, caring brother, proud uncle, and cherished godfather. Family and friends meant everything to him, and he always put the needs of others before his own. If someone needed help, Mike would be there without hesitation. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without ever expecting anything in return. His generosity, compassion, and willingness to help anyone in need defined the way he lived his life.

An avid collector of trading cards and anime figurines, Mike also had a lifelong passion for music. He found joy and peace in the music of the Grateful Dead, the Dave Matthews Band, and many other artists who shared their free-spirited style. Whether attending concerts, listening to his favorite songs, or sharing music with those he loved, it was an important part of who he was.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elias and Andromache Kafantaris. He is now reunited with those who went before him and will be forever remembered by all who loved him.

He is lovingly survived by his mother, Kay Kafantaris Williams; his father, George Kostakis; his brother, Elias Kostakis; his beloved daughter, Madeline; his cherished son, Demitri; as well as many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, generosity, and love.

Mike’s laughter, gentle heart, and unconditional love will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Though his absence leaves an unimaginable void, his spirit lives on through the love he gave so freely, the memories he created, and the countless lives he touched. He will forever be remembered as a man who loved deeply, lived authentically, and made the world a better place simply by being himself.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 9426 Little Road, New Port Richey, FL 34654. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation.  Burial will take place at Cycadia Cemetery, 1021 E. Tarpon Avenue, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689.
