Faye Ragsdale

June 21, 1939~January 27, 2019

Mom, Mama, Mama Faye, Grandma, Grandma Faye, Faye, Aunt Faye, or Mrs. Ragsdale, to so many, was born June 21, 1939 in Tampa, Florida. She had 7 kids, 13 grandkids, 2 great grandkids, 6 brothers and sisters, and a slew of nieces and nephews. She was an overcomer, a leader, a motivator, a teacher, a chef, a team mom, a coach, and those were just a few of the things she did for fun in the afternoons. Most of all she was a wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend. Faye was a fighter and was only given a maximum of 3 months to live. After being diagnosed with cancer 15 months ago, she fought the good fight with a lot of grace and dignity. Our hearts are saddened with the loss of our wife and Mom on Sunday, January 27, 2019, but she met her Savior face to face, and for that we are thankful and comforted. If you were fortunate enough to know her, then you know what a special lady she was. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Wayne, and her seven children; Diana(Dabney)Martin of Longwood, FL; Tom Gillett of New Port Richey; Jimmy(Gail)Gillett of Tarpon Springs; Anna(Jerry)Kindinis;Andy(Sylvia)Ragsdale;John Ragsdale of Tarpon Springs; and Allan(Ana) Ragsdale of Tarpon Springs. Faye is also survived by her siblings: John Albritton of Tarpon Springs,Frank(Virginia)Albritton of Miami, FL, Diana(Mike )Simonhoff of Miami, Bobby Albritton of Maryland and Barbara Ann Skinner of Starke, FL.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Faye, a saint in my eyes. I don't need to describe all the incredible qualities of Faye. You know them first hand. But, I do need to say that my love and respect for Faye goes deep. She was a saint to my Mom, your Aunt Mildred, and I will always be indebted to her for the loving care she gave to her. I do not know what I would have done without Faye's watchful eye over Mom. She cared for her as if Mom was her own. There are no words to express the respect I have for her and how she lead her life. A story so hard in the beginning that most people would think you made up the journey that she traveled, and how she overcame it all. Faye is a great loss to us as family, and to the world in general. I am thankful that she was my cousin and that she now lives in the beautiful heaven that she deserves. May your heart find peace soon, may God bless you with His peace as he eases your grief. Love to you all. Priscilla

My deepest sympathy in the passing of this beloved woman. I will always fondly remember our times serving together in Tarpon Springs Little League Baseball. Faye was an amazing woman dedicated to the children of our community. I will always cherish her friendship during those years. So happy knowing she's safely in the arms of our Lord.
