Gary A. Greger, 47, of New Port Richey, Florida, passed away on September 22, 2025, just five days shy of his 48th birthday. He was born on September 27, 1977, in Dunedin, Florida.
Gary worked as a utility mechanic for the City of New Port Richey, where his dedication and skill earned him the respect of his colleagues. But beyond the job, he was first and foremost a man of family, love, and strength.
He is survived by his daughter Cassidy; his beloved grandson Brantlee; his fiancée Patricia; his mother Barbara; his younger brother Bobby Sr; and his nephew Bobby Jr.; Son-in-law Eric. He also leaves behind friends and extended family who were touched by his kindness, loyalty, and humor.
Gary was endlessly curious and loved learning something new every chance he got. He was adventurous at heart and happiest when outdoors — whether fishing, camping, hiking, or simply enjoying nature’s peace. A proud wrestler in high school, he cherished sharing stories from his time on the mat and loved teaching his nephew and grandson the sport he held so close.
In his family, Gary was the rock. He was the one everyone leaned on, the one who cared for others, who made sure things ran smoothly, and who offered strength when times were hard. To his grandson, Brantlee, Gary was not just a grandfather but the apple of his eye—he adored him more than anything, and took great pride in being “Papaw.”
If there is one word to sum up how Gary will be remembered, it is strength — strength of character, strength of love, strength to face adversity and support those around him.
