Janice Marie Baird, 73, of Tarpon Springs, Florida passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021.

She was born on October 22, 1947 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, the daughter of Clara (Hodges) Baird and the late Junius Baird.

As a young girl Janice moved with her family to Ohio and graduated from Hilliard High School in 1965. She then received her Bachelor of Education degree from The Ohio State University in 1969.

She was a beloved elementary school teacher in Columbus, Ohio for many years. After taking a break and working in the business world in Michigan for a few years she moved to Florida to be near family and resumed her teaching career until her retirement.

In addition to being a talented teacher she was also a very creative person and loved decorating, sewing, crafts and art of all kinds. She loved Christmas and was crazy for reindeer of any kind. No matter where she lived Janice was a huge Ohio State Buckeye fan.

She was a much loved member of her extended family. In addition to her mother, Janice is survived by a brother Glenn Baird (Rita) River Ranch, Florida, a sister Teresa Schramm (Jeffery) Columbus, Ohio; four nieces and 1 nephew, Kristal Baird Reich Florida, Tara Reik (Tom) Florida, Christina Sokolski (Dennis) South Carolina, Samatha Carter (James) Ohio, Aaron Thomas (Monique) Ohio; several great nieces and nephews; several great great nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and her precious dog Jackson.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by one brother Randy Baird.

To fulfill Janice's wishes her memorial will be a private family affair.
