Jeffrey A. Barrow

January 06, 1949~October 10, 2020

Jeffery Adrian Barrow, 71, of Hudson passed away on October 10, 2020. In the tradition of a renaissance man, he enjoyed many different things throughout his life. Everything from raising pigeons with his brother, street racing, golf, archery, horsemanship, and boating, to shooting, collecting, and playing the stock market.

Adrian was someone who valued integrity and work ethic. He demonstrated this throughout his lifetime. He modeled this through hard work and always keeping his word. As a young man he started at Winn Dixie as a bagger and eventually working his way up to the Director of Human Resources Field Operations.

Along this journey, professional accomplishments that both he and us are proud of are: his role as Lifetime National Advisory Board Member for DECA, planned/directed Winn Dixie national new cost saving uniform program, and as Administrative expert to one of the first Computerized Interview processes.

As a son, Dad, or Poppy, he shared his mastery of negotiations. Not only through negotiating a land deal, but also at home negotiating with his children and their friends for Saturday morning yardwork in exchange for a sleepover. He liked a pinecone free yard.

In his retirement, his enjoyment came from time at his house on the water with the those he loved most.

Adrian’s legacy lives on through his loving and loyal wife of 51 years, for whom his traded his Ford Falcon for, Sandra (Davis) Barrow of Hudson, Fl., son Jeffery T. Barrow and his wife Constance of Jacksonville, Fl., daughter Marsha Moor and her husband Andy of Jacksonville, Fl., sisters Yvonne Barrow-Glass and her husband Steve of Goodview, Va., Gina Barrow of Collinsville, Va., grandchildren (aka his boogers) Faith, Bela, Hope, Abby, Grace, Piper, and Jeremiah. He joins his Father and Mother, Leon and Virginia, along with his brother Kendall Barrow.

A remembrance service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at Calvary Worship Center located at 3266 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida, at 1:00pm. Please plan to join the family for a meal after.
