Jerry Cletus Saylor, 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on June 18, 2026.

Jerry was a man who truly loved life and his family. He loved nature, and he was happiest anytime he could be outdoors. His favorite times were spent fishing,  hunting, camping and gardening.  Some of our most treasured family memories come from the vacations we spent at his beloved fishing spot in Wisconsin. That’s where he taught us how to fish, but more than that, it’s where he taught us how to SLOW DOWN, laugh, and enjoy being together. The stories from those days—of friends, fishing, swimming, and the warmth he brought to every moment—will stay with us forever.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and commitment, survived by his beloved wife, Ann, with whom he shared nearly 68 years of marriage. He is also survived by his four children: Pamela Smith of Hidden Valley Lake, California; Shelly Schwab of Concord, North Carolina; Wanda Osterman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Scott Saylor & Wife Brenda of Atlanta, GA. Jerry’s memory will additionally live on through his 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Jerry is still smiling and waving as you pass by and saying, “See you later.”

I will miss my Grandpa dearly. I will always have the memories of coming out to Fort Wayne Indiana to visit many summers playing in the pool,
going to the Amish markets, going to Lake Michigan, being taught by him how to fly fish and fishing in general. It was the best times of my life. He was the most sweetest gentle soul. may he rest in peace. He will be in my memories and heart forever❤️
