In memory of Joan (Grams) L. (Souder) Snyder

Joan was born in Atlantic City, NJ to Harry & Ethel Souder. She was 1 of 9 children raised in Venice Park, NJ. She married John Snyder (deceased) in February of 1957. She lived in Pleasantville NJ until moving to Florida in 2000. She had a loving companion, Richard Long (deceased) who shared her life for many years.

She is survived by her sister, Judy Ruberton of Hammonton NJ, her brother Edward Link of Absecon NJ, her 2 children Karen Hanna and John (& Tammy) Snyder. She has 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Jamie (& Erin) Fogarty (Journey, Abby, Jackson and Kaylie), Bill (& Krystal) Hanna (Billy, Alyssa and Nathan), Valerie (&Vincent) Hanna (Elijah & Isaiah), Tiffany (& Dorn) Reppert (Faith & Jacob), and Presley (& Josh) Morgan (Autumn).

She is predeceased by her husband John, her son Jimmy and her brothers Bob & Harry (Bill) and Leroy, and her sisters Ruth, Harriot and her twin Jean.

She worked at her sister Jean’s beauty parlor (Peter Pan’s) in Atlantic City for many years.

She moved to Florida in 2000 after her 1st great-grandchild was born and was here for the rest of her life. She was always the “go to” person for the family as a babysitter which she relished. Not much made her happier then helping to take care of her family.

She belonged to a bowling league at Hudson Bowl for many years and loved the friendship she made with the other ladies.

There will be a memorial on Saturday March 2nd at Dobies Funeral Home at the intersection of Hudson Ave and Hicks Road in Hudson at 1pm followed by a Celebration of her life at 13129 Filbert St in Hudson.

There will be also be a Celebration of her life in New Jersey in the spring when I will be bringing her ashes up so she can be buried beside her Husband and son. There will be more details for this as dates are decided.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to HPH Hospice, 12107 Majestic Blvd, Hudson Fl.
