John Marchione

September 17, 1933~December 02, 2020

Marchione, John beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020. Born in Bugnara, Italy in 1933, John immigrated to the United States shortly after WWII, moving to Canton, where he attended and graduated from Lincoln High School. After his service in the Army, John met the love of his life, Anna Mae, whom he married in 1956, and shared 58 wonderful years together. John worked at Timken Steel for over 30 years, retiring in 1996 and moving to Florida, until 2014, when he returned north to be closer to family. A talented artist, John’s friends and families houses are adorned with the many drawings and paintings that he prodigiously produced as a “hobby”. John was an avid sportsman who coached little league baseball, enjoyed tennis and bowling, and was ever so passionate about playing golf.

John Marchione never met a stranger. Even in the nursing home, he always wanted to share with other residents the goodies and snacks brought to him. He loved his family, both close and extended.

John is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Anna Mae, sons Jim Marchione (Mary) of Akron, OH; Ken Marchione (Judy) of Cassville, NY, daughter Janet Mathavich (George) of Greenville, SC, grandchildren Megan Carvalho (Gabe), Jon Marchione, Elisa Marchione, and brother Mario Marchione (Chris). In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to a local arts organization in your area.
