Judge Lawrence E. Keough, 93, peacefully departed Oct. 26, 2026 and is now with the Lord. He lived his life, giving thanks to the Lord for countless blessings bestowed upon him and his family.
Born Nov. 8, 1932 in Sharon Pennsylvania, a son of the late Larry and Ruth Keough, he was a devout Catholic, embracing the pillars of faith, family and career throughout a fulfilling life.
Married in 1956, he was a loving husband to his wife, Carole Richards Keough. They were happily married for 63 years until her death on Sept. 30, 2019.
He graduated from Stetson University College of Law, class of 1960, and served as an attorney for the City of St. Petersburg from 1960-1961. He was a partner of the St. Petersburg law firm of Fisher, Sauls Adcock and Keough and was a Circuit Judge for the Sixth Judicial Circuit from 1974-1994.
After graduating from John Carroll University in 1954, he honorably served in the U.S. Army in Korea as a Second Lieutenant from 1954-1956.
He graduated from Sharon High School in 1950 after performing as a sprinter in track and as a halfback for the football team.
He leaves behind a family legacy as a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, survived by: his sons and their spouses, Larry and wife Jackie, Michael and wife Lisa, Timothy and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Joel, Ryan, Kyle, Mary, Sara, Kayli, Meghan, Michael, Casey and Shaina; great granddaughters, Steelie, Hudson, June, Dakota and Charlie; great grandson, Blake; granddaughters in law, Emily and Catherine; and grandsons in law, Joey Grant, Nick Dendor, Quinten Henricks and Matt Adams.
Preceding him in death other than his wife and parents are sisters Jean Widdowson and Patricia Reilly, and brother, Thomas Keough.
He is remembered for his self-effacing manner and proclivity to treat family, friends and strangers with respect and dignity. His children have many fond memories of their parents selflessly engaging in family-centered pastimes of boating and passionately following Notre Dame football.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey.
