Karen S. Bean

January 23, 1943~June 06, 2024
Karen Sue Stone Magilligan Bean, 81, of New Port Richey, Florida went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2024. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Larry Bean, her children Joseph (Wendy) Magilligan, Teresa (Seth) Davidson, Daniel Bean, Erin (David) Prosman, Amy (Louis) Struikman, her twelve grandchildren, her one great grandchild, and her sister, Diana Kulwicki.
Although originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Karen moved to Clearwater, Florida with her family when she was young and graduated from Clearwater High School. She raised her children and worked in banking. After retiring from banking, she was very involved in her church and her community.
Karen had an incredible sense of fun and an infectious laugh. She always lived life to the fullest. She loved visiting Disney World and travelling to see new places. She also had an artistic eye and was the queen of crafting. She always had fun activities prepared for her grandchildren ranging from shooting rockets (she loved the space program) to making creative crafts (especially with glitter) to silly string fights and giant bubbles.
A service will be held at Bayside Church in Safety Harbor on Saturday June 29th at 3pm.
In loving memory of Karen we invite contributions to Bayside Church or I RISE in lieu of flowers. These were organizations that she was passionate about.

I am grateful for the impact Karen had on my beloved wife Sherri going back to the early 1970s, when Sherri and Karen’s daughter Teri began a lifelong friendship.
More recently, I have personally appreciated the marriage of Karen and Larry, a marriage centered on Jesus Christ. I am in prayer for all the family members affected by the loss of this great woman, who is “precious in God’s sight”. Psalm 116:15: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints”.

Teri, Joe and Larry,

Your mom and wife is a part of so very many memories that span nearly my entire life.

She was always so welcoming to me as a young girl visiting in her home. She never failed to allow a fun sleepover and always had the most delicious doughnuts ever in the freezer for breakfast. She later allowed us to overtake her home with those fun first girl/boy parties. As we aged into adulthood she still provided a spot for reconnecting without hesitation. I had absolutely no idea how much work that was until much later in life and respect so much that she did all of this while working. Wow!

She welcomed John in to the gatherings as we began dating and I was so grateful. We got to have the privilege in turn of welcoming Larry. I have been overjoyed to watch their beautiful marriage and blessed to worship alongside them both with our growing family for so many years.

I am also thankful that she and my mom were friends for so long and smile thinking that Karen can now give my mom a first hand account of Kate’s wedding. I know we will see them again as we trust in the same Lord and Savior. I’m pretty sure Karen would like me to say to anyone reading this that you too can be sure of your opportunity to be reunited first with your Creator God through His Son Jesus and thus with her as she has gone on before us to be in his presence. “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved” Romans 10:9

While I know we are not biological family, we are indeed family and you are all loved immensely by us all. I will miss her dearly and I send you all my love, hugs and deepest sympathy as you walk through these hard days.

Karen Bean was one of the women in Kristen and my life that most reflected the love of Jesus! Always uplifting, faithful, caring, and loyal to anyone around her! We are so honored to have called her friend. She was, and will always be, a pivotal piece to the growth and spirit lead move of God at Bayside Church. To the family, know that the Bracys love you and are so heartbroken for you!

My hear is saddened at the passing of such an amazing, beautiful Sister in Christ. Karen was such a warm caring loving God fearing woman. She and I shared the similar taste in clothing, and accessories, I always looked forward to seeing what accessories or shawls she had on and she’d check up on what shoes I was wearing. My sincere condolences to Larry and the entire family, I pray for strength, comfort and peace during this difficult time.
