88, of Holiday, Florida, passed away February 25, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children Susan and Richard; four grandchildren: Michele, Jessica, Kristin Ann and Kristin Danielle; nine great-grandchildren: Logan, Chloe, Lauryn, Sofia, Sebastian, Simone, Lucas, Caleb and Annalie; and sister, Lois.
Ken played his accordion for most of his life. When young, he accompanied his sister Lois while she sang. He gave accordion lessons to many people, including his daughter Sue and a blind student. He played his accordion in many bands, including “One Man Band” by himself. He especially enjoyed playing his accordion in church, praising and worshiping God. At age 12, Ken worked for $0.25/wk for his Uncle Bill and learned jewelry trades including Tool and Dye Maker, Jewelry Store Owner, Grocery Store Owner, Flea Market Vendor, Golf Course Groundskeeper, Dishwasher, Stocking shopping cart ads.
Ken and Carol were married for 67 years. They loved traveling, dancing, going to the beach, going out to eat, walking and riding bikes together and going to church. At church, Ken was a Deacon, Usher, Communion Assistant, Accordion Accompanist and a choir member.
Ken enjoyed tennis, biking, fishing, hunting, gardening, music, sitting around a campfire, getting together with family and friends, talking, listening and helping others, watching the boats at Anclote Beach, feeding the birds, resting in his porch chair, eating Carol's cooking, and being a volunteer Ranger on the Pinellas Trail.
Anyone who met Ken, loved him. He will be greatly missed by everyone. There will be a Memorial Service on March 14, Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church at 812 E. Tarpon Avenue, Tarpon Springs, Florida 34689. All memorials to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, in lieu of flowers.
