Larry Chester Poore of New Port Richey has gone to be with the Lord on 10/05/2026 at the age of 72. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones.

Larry was born on 12/09/1953 in Juneau, Alaska to Annemarie and Chester Poore. Larry was the youngest of three children.

As a son of a military family, in his early years the family spent their time in the United States and Germany. Larry went on to settle in New Port Richey Florida in 1974.

He graduated high school from Long Branch High in Long Branch, New Jersey in 1973.  Also, attended trade school for two years for heating and air.

He married the love of his life, Robin in June of 1979; they had two sons, Joseph and Jonathan.

Larry retired from the city of New Port Richey after 26 years of service.

He is survived by his wife Robin Poore; his son Jonathan (Krystal) Poore; three grandchildren Joseph, Julianna and Jolene; brother Father Leo Poore; sister Shirley Holden; as well as many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Annemarie, father Chester and his son Joseph.

Larry’s greatest achievements in life were when he became a father and a grandfather. Larry enjoyed boating, fishing, shooting, and sitting poolside.

Services will be held on October 12th at Dobie’s Funeral Home on Congress in New Port Richey; viewing 1:30 to 2:30, service at 2:30 and burial will be immediately following at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens.
