October 07, 1944~December 03, 2025

Loretta exchanged her earthly body for her perfect heavenly one, Wednesday, Dec 3 at 1:37pm, in Hudson, FL, while surrounded by her family.

Loretta was born in Detroit, MI to Rev R.T. and Rita Daugherty.  The family moved to Kentucky when she was 18months old to take their first pastoral position.   Loretta grew up with her brother Ray in the church parsonage where they created so many beautiful memories!

Loretta attended Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY where she graduated Valedictorian with a degree in Education.  She subsequently used her degree to teach Spanish and English in both public and private schools.  Loretta had two daughters, Kim and Kerri, in her first marriage.

Loretta met and married, the love of her life, “my sweet Gary”, in the spring of 1978 and together they had a full house of 6 kids: David, Debbie,  Kim, Nancy, Billy, and Kerri – The Hitchcock Bunch!  Together they created a wonderful life for their family during their 47 years together.

Loretta was an amazing grandmother to 17, great-grandmother to 11 with one on the way, and great-great-grandmother to 1, here on earth.  Upon entering heaven, she met her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who have been in heaven waiting for her arrival!

Loretta and Gary moved to Hudson, Florida in March 1998.  They attend church at New Life Christian Church in Spring Hill, where they made incredible friends. Loretta loved spending her time studying her Bible, watching football, doing puzzles, and spending time with her family – whether in person or on FaceTime.

Loretta was full of life!  She was kind, generous, and was always up for an adventure!   She was always quick to talk about her Jesus and show His love to everyone she met.  She is going to be missed desperately by all of her family and friends, but her legacy lives on!  We are so looking forward to seeing her again,  one day, in Heaven!

“And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.” Heb 12:2 “I love each and every one of you so much and desire to see all of us following Christ to the end! May God grant this as my heart’s desire”. – an excerpt from Loretta’s autobiography
