February 11, 1939~June 18, 2026

Lorraine M. (Dingman) DeForge passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, generosity, and devotion to family.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank DeForge, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together they built a family centered on faith, kindness, hard work, and unconditional love. She was also preceded in death by her cherished sons, Jerry DeForge and Paul DeForge. Though their loss was carried deeply in her heart, Lorraine continued to share her love, strength, and compassion with those around her throughout her life.

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Lorraine worked part-time in home health care, dedicating herself to helping others through both her profession and her daily life. Caring for people came naturally to her, and she never hesitated to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Above all else, Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother of eight children, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride and joy. She created a warm and welcoming home where everyone felt loved, accepted, and cared for.

Lorraine held a special place in her heart for her son Paul, who was born with Down syndrome. Inspired by his extraordinary life and the lessons he taught those around him; she authored the book Paul’s Story: A Life with Down Syndrome. Through her writing, she shared a message of love, dignity, acceptance, and the value of every life.

Lorraine was also known for her big heart and caring nature. She had a knack for looking out for young mothers who were having a tough time or raising children on their own. Many of her daughters’ friends found support, advice, a listening ear, and often a second mom in Lorraine. She welcomed countless people into her home and her life, always ready to help and never expecting anything in return.

Lorraine was a woman with strong opinions and was never afraid to share them. She loved her family deeply, spoke her mind, and always wanted what she thought was best for the people she cared about. Whether she was giving advice, catching up on family news, or talking about what was going on in the world, Lorraine took a genuine interest in the lives of those around her. Her honesty, sense of humor, and one-of-a-kind personality made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She enjoyed homemaking, crafting, and creating beautiful things with her hands. Whether she was caring for her family, helping a friend, working on a craft project, or simply sharing a conversation over coffee, Lorraine made people feel valued and loved.

Those who knew Lorraine will remember her strength, warmth, resilience, and remarkable ability to make others feel welcome. Her influence extended far beyond her own family, touching the lives of friends, neighbors, caregivers, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved Frank and those who have gone before her. Her love, wisdom, and example will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and the many lives she touched throughout her years.

Lorraine’s life was a beautiful example of service, compassion, and unconditional love. Her memory will forever remain a blessing.
