Mrs. Lynda J. Place, age 70, of Tarpon Springs, FL (formerly of Gloversville, NY) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, after several months of health issues.

Mrs. Place was born on August 28, 1951, to the late Edwin and Patricia (Johnson) Hallenbeck. She graduated from Gloversville High School in 1969 and spent her life caring for others as a registered nurse. She retired from nursing in 2021.

In 1971, Lynda married the love of her life, Jim Place. After nearly 51 years of marriage, Lynda was predeceased by her husband on May 3, 2022. She is survived by her daughters Sarah (George) Lanum, and Kelly (Peter) Zervas; grandchildren Magdalena, Leon, and Alexander Zervas, and grandpups, Rupert and Carmen Lanum. She is also survived by her brother, Marc Hallenbeck; cherished cousin Sharyl (Doug) Sadowski; special nephew Jonathan (Stacy) Judge; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Lynda is also survived by her best friend of 67 years, Kathy Kovarovic of Scottsdale, AZ who has been her rock throughout these past few months.

Lynda will be remembered for the love of her family and friends, scrapbooking, cruising, and entertaining. She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband, siblings Susan Judge and Michael Hallenbeck, and nephew Brandon Sadowski.

Per Lynda’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements will be handled by Thomas B Dobies Funeral Home in Tarpon Springs (www.dobiesfuneralhome.com). Lynda’s family would like to thank the nursing staff of the ICU at Trinity Hospital for their loving and compassionate care of Lynda, especially her nurses Derek, Amanda, and Amanda.
